Dangerous Slang

Published by Jade at 2:02 pm under Easily Amused

Last night BTP was sitting on the couch telling us all about her classes and her teachers at the high school when she starts telling us about how cool her P.E. coach is. I was half listening to her at this point, planning in my head for all of the things I have left to do before Thanksgiving dinner, when suddenly I hear her use a certain word.

“What did you just say?”

“We get to shag for him all of the time too!”

hmmm

Is that right?

I’m glad we’re in America, as that phrase could/would cause a whole hell storm for that P.E. coach in another country, dontcha think?

Okay, you have to explain this one to me, it sounds very dodgy smile hehe.

“Shagging” in the game they were playing in P.E. (I’ve no idea what the game was as it was something I’ve never heard of) meant that the girls would run and fetch the ball for coach after it went out of bounds. They would “shag” for the ball. Where that comes from, I’ve no idea since I’ve never heard it before, either. Other than from Austin Powers, and his shaggin’ certainly isn’t what I want my kid doing in P.E. Class!

Yeah, that WOULD certainly be a problem.
