Blanket Apologies Warm No Hearts

Published by Jade at 2:09 pm under Hints From Jade

Example:

“I’m sorry for whatever it is I did/said…..”

If you don’t know what it is you are apologizing for, then you really shouldn’t bother at all. It’s ridiculously insulting to the other party whom is then expected to accept such an apology and offer forgiveness.

If you simply can’t bring yourself to admit to doing whatever it was that you need to apologize for, therefore throwing out that blanket apology, then you couldn’t possibly truly be sorry for your actions and are making a mockery of the acts of apologies and forgiveness.

I agree with that wholeheartedly, though I think it’s very rare the person truly doesn’t know what they did to offend. It’s more of a ‘trying not to admit you did wrong, but get the person off your back’ ploy…. and a cowardly one

I am sorry for not coming by here more often. Seriously though, your feeds don’t come up in my reader and when they do I get a weeks’ worth at one time.

    I love you.

I agree. I can’t think of anything worse then an apology where someone doesn’t know WTF they are apologizing for. If you don’t mean it, STFU.

I completly agree with you, but I do think that most times people know what they should be appoligizing for they just don’t want to humble themselves and admit they either was wrong or they should have kept their big mouths shut.

Tracy  I love you too honey!

Ok y’all, the feeds should be ok now. Mr. Yoshi helped me out and it’s fixed thru feedburner now!  *muaw* Yoshi!

I agree with ya’lls assesments too! Cowardly is one word that comes to mind and yes, STFU if you are just apologizing to get someone off your back.
