Amen! I read James one night when I REALLY needed to hear the message. I was laughing so much, I had to call Laci. I was like, ok, ok, I GET IT.
James 1:26 26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.
James 2:12-13 12Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!
I love the “Mercy triumphs over judgment!” part. I think “merciful” is a word that really needs to be focused on more than the act of judgment.
James is the book I go to when I need encouragement. I have never really understood why, it just was and is. I spent a little times in James during the 4th of July weekend.
Wonderful post, Jade. None of us are in a position to judge others. Mercy triumphing over judgement is true comfort and the beginning of living a thought life that edifies not only those around us, but ourselves as well.
Love you,
