Infected Sunburns on Pigs & Other Related Garbeldegoop
Yeah. You read that right. I know, Ftw?
“Infected Sunburns on Pigs” was a string of search words used by one lucky soul to end up here at my blog. Go Google. Does it get any better than that folks? I don’t know, that’s a tough one to beat.
Soooo-eeeey! *snort*
Ok, on with the show folks.
Luckily, for me, online searches tend to lean away from the farm animal types and ride mostly the line of images, photography and the like when my name and/or works pop up. Whether it be Google, Yahoo, or the like, people are finding me, and that’s a very good thing.
Variously throughout the years, I have been contacted by folks or organizations requesting permission to use one, or more, of my photos in some other kind of work. Sometimes it’s been brochures, as was the case with this photo I took upon my first trip to Monmouth. Another group in California wanted to use one of my images in a brochure touting an upcoming religious gathering. City planners like to request use of my photos for all sorts of things, it would seem, from maps of the best places to go to advertising for upcoming events, such as the Peoria Festival of Lights. Which, I will be going back to this year to see if I can get even better photos since I am a year wiser and more practiced!
I am very excited when things like these contacts come along. I am more than willing to allow for the usage of my photos as long as credit is given back to me, as it serves a few purposes. It helps them out with whatever project they are working on. It also helps me out by getting my name and my art out there to be seen, appreciated, and hopefully remembered so that some day I might actually make some money off of what I do.
That brings me to my last topic. Same subject, just a different direction. I am tossing around the idea of starting my own photography business again. I really enjoyed taking the pictures of Payton’s wedding and I think I have a knack for it. Not to mention the creative gumption it takes to do such things. I want to do weddings. Of course, I will still stake my claim in as many aspects of the world of photography as I possibly can while building up my reputation. And, as slow going as it might be, I think I just might be heading down the right path towards the beginnings of that right now. Slowly but surely.

While, I still have a lot to learn and a lot of equipment I need to buy before I even think about making a go of it, practice never hurts! And, I really enjoy it.
You need to do this. You CAN do this. You are an amazing photographer. I’ve been wanting to do the same thing for quite some time but I have a very long way to go before I can work on that dream. Your wedding photos are awesome as are every other photo I’ve ever seen you produce. Do it!
