So, the Sicilian Princess bamboozled
me into being her assistant cheer coach, fashionably backing up her Head Cheer Coach position this year with Pop Warner. Now, my son has decided not to play football this year, so really, what are my ties? Well, the beautiful and talented Froggie, and the fact that, generally, I do what the Sicilian Princess says I am going to do. Have you ever pissed off an Italian? Me either, and frankly, I don’t really feel like starting right now either! lol
Today, that included 7 hours of fun boring stuff that went along under the title of Cheer Coach Instruction. Meh.
The cool parts? Getting to spend the entire day a) out of the house and b) with my bff and c) Mike who did some of the instruction cuz he was like full of personality and stuff. Oh! And don’t forget my snazzy certificate and the cool ass T-shirt I got!
/sarcasm
The bad parts? Most of the instructional portions were ran by a woman who was probably the most boring public speaker I have ever had the chore of sitting for 6 hours and listening to. Oh.My.Gawd. I was ready to pull my hair out by the end of it all! On top of that fun stuff, we had a 65 question test that we had to take based on the material covered throughout the day. Yes, I am serious.
At least they fed us or my poor ass would have gone hungry. Hungry and bored is not a good combination either. Just sayin’.
I am kind of excited about the cheer leading/coaching thing this year. I was, and still am, very disappointed that TB isn’t playing football, as I was looking forward to being a part of something again, for him and for myself, too. So, this should be a good time, dealing with the girls, teaching and mentoring them, and creating all kinds of divas in training! Seriously though, I do think it’s going to be a lot of fun and I am excited for practices to begin. Speaking of which, they start on Monday!! Remember last years hell weeks with TB? Well, cheer leaders have the same rigid schedule.
Starting Monday, practice is every single day for two weeks. School starts up on the 11th, creating a whole boat load of chaos within my house hold for the next couple of weeks. Pile on top of that some other things that are making life quite dramatic at this point in time. It’s a wonder I can function daily un-medicated. Srsly.
If you knew it all, you would buy me shoes, just because you feel so sorry for me.
Right now, I must go do laundry and create some master music mixes for our girls!
Go Threshers!!!
