Are You Talking To Me?!

There are times in life, when, you are somewhere and you swear the person speaking is speaking directly to you. No, not like a one on one conversation, face to face with eye contact kind of speaking to. I am referring to a public situation, of whatever kind, and you swear the person doing the speaking (to the crowd) isn’t really speaking to the group as a whole, but directly to you.

Kind of eerie, isn’t it?

That’s what happened to me today.

Sitting in church and Mark was giving his sermon. Mark is fantastic, BTW. Anyhow, he was speaking directly to me. To my heart. I cried the whole service. But it wasn’t the words, as much as what I was supposed to take away from them, that hit me so hard. On the table today, in case you’re just too curious to sit still, was 1 Corinthians 7:1-9.

I still cried when I came home, and even now, his words lie heavy on my heart.

No matter the delivery, whether it be a valedictorian speech at graduation, your pastor at your church, a motivational speaker at work, and sometimes even through music if your heart is listening hard enough, you will get spoken to, because it’s a message that you need to receive on whatever level.

It’s really surreal in a *movie* kind of way.

I can’t decide if I am glad I went or not. Usually it’s a no brainer, I am always glad.....
