Blame It On the Economy

Sometimes being a mommy hurts. Especially when your children hurt.

Gather ‘round my dear little babies
Mommy has a story that you need to hear.
This is not an easy thing to say
But we had to cancel our vacation this year.

There will be no Sea World
No surf and no sand.
No snow cones or boogie boards
In your hot little hands.

The gas prices these days
Are way too high
And, no, my little angels,
We cannot fly.

The air planes need fuel
To get up and around
Raising their ticket prices
And keeping families on the ground.

With the rising cost of groceries
gas, bills and the housing stuff
It’s making these times for mommies
and daddies a little rough.

Do not cry, my little ones
We will still get away
For we have found a little resort
Closer by, where we can stay.

They have water slides
Big rafts and waves too
We’ll even get treated
Like royalty by the pool.

We will do everything we can
To make it right
And maybe next year
California will be in sight.

Do not be mad at us, little ones
It’s not our fault as your daddy and mommy
You see, if you really want to blame someone
You can blame the economy.
