Lest We Forget

We shall be reminded. Srsly.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks. Truly. It’s no secret I haven’t been looking forward to turkey day, but really, who doesn’t look forward to big bellies, football on the tube and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade to start it all off?
Yea. Well, not me, not this year. Again, things have been a little rough. Until today.
Wow. If there had been clouds above me today, there would have been rainbows. I have happy danced my way long into the night and will probably go to sleep with a giant grin on my face! You know, I was told growing up that you’d better “be careful or your face will freeze that way!” I say, bring it on. Let it freeze this way because I don’t care! Today has been a wonderful day full of wonderful news and I thank God for bringing these things together within my life!
Finally, I might be able to breathe just a little easier, and that my friends, brings me to not feeling so icky about this Thanksgiving. I may not have everything I desire in my arms right now. I miss my BTP and my TB so much it’s painful, but I do have my little Bean, I have my health, I have the great things that came together for me today and I do have my faith. I have beautiful friends who help hold me up when I am at my lowest points, when the darkness threatens to swallow me whole, they have been there. Drying my tears and holding my hand. I truly have so much to be thankful for.
So, tomorrow morning Bean and I are going to sip hot cider while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and eating eggs and sausage for breakfast. Then, I am going to cook the mini turkey I picked up for us with mini versions of all the fixin’s. Once we’ve had our dinner, we are going to pull out the Christmas decorations and get to work! I have four days, count ‘em, four days to get everything beautified for my favorite holiday of the year and I plan on doing nothing but that! I cleaned the house top to bottom, literally, today (even vacuumed the stairs...oh...my...gawd...that sucked, just sayin’) so I can now freely clutter everything up with everything that glitters, lights up, and smells yummy! Bean and I are excited.
So, I’d like to wish everyone out there a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful day. Don’t forget to count your blessings.
Once the turkey is digested, I shall return.
Until then, I grin!
