Save Money - Go Cheap

Obviously, finances are tight these days. I did manage to come up with enough to buy Bean a few things to start school with come Monday morning, without breaking myself in two. Now, I don’t know what BTP and TB may end up needing, as, their grandmother on their father’s side took them shopping this weekend. For tonight? It was easy.

First, we headed to Mervyn’s. They were sportin’ SideOut backpacks for $9.99. Now, although clearly marked at the advertised sales price, apparently there was an addition discount, as, with taxes and all, I only paid $8.16 for a backpack that is pretty “tight”. I am a cool mom.

After that we cruised over to our local Ross. Oh. My. Dear. I love me some Ross. It’s shopping nirvana for sure. Bean was a lucky girl tonight. She ended up with the last pair of Etnies in her size - $25 bucks. An adorable, green shirt that says “Kermit University”. In the style of those ‘70’s t-shirts - $2.99 on the clearance rack. She got a four pack of socks - I forget the brand but she about peed herself when she saw them - for $4.99.

Awesome, right? The best part is that they are all names that “everybody is wearing moooooooom!”, and I don’t pay the high prices. The kids are happy and so is my wallet. It’s a win/win situation, if you ask me.

Next we will be off to Old Navy for some jeans, as I hear they are having an incredible jeans sale right now!

Oh, can’t ya just smell the new school supplies already? The peace of knowing they are busy, all day, getting an education in order to secure their futures is heaven.........
